Brigade News

Greetings, Marines!

I am assuming command of the Second Brigade, as acting Officer in Charge.

As of May 21, 2010, 2BDE has 52 active and 44 reserve Marines in 14 active units. We, meaning my staff and I, need a better turnout of reports from the units within the brigade.

I would like to welcome two new officers to the 2BDE staff:  Colonel Barry Jackson & Lieutenant Colonel Anne Zecca.

COL Jackson will serve as Brigade Deputy OIC and Personnel/Administrative (S1) Officer. LTC Zecca is our new Operations/Training (S3) Officer and, as such, will liaison with TRACOM and act as Brigade Training Officer. She will also chair our awards committee, which will work on the year end BDE honor awards; which will also be discussed with all members of the brigade.

The remaining 2BDE staff is as follows:
Colonel James Reed, Signal/Intelligence (S2) Officer
Colonel Bryan Jones, Logistics (S4) Officer.

As we are bringing back the battalions, I will be taking applications for battalion Officers in Charge.  If you are interested in serving as a battalion OIC, please send in your application to me no later than June 30th at 11:59pm ET (10:59pm CT).  We now have five battalions within the brigade, with the addition of the 5th BN in the Caribbean.

We also updated the 2BDE website, which can be found at:
