January found me at the Police range sighting in a new Remington 700, .270 rifle with a scope that I’ll be using for hunting deer, boar & bear.
February was a quiet month. Not much happening.
March was busy. The 1st week in March found me in a Firearms Training Class with the Police Dept. here in town. Certificate will be posted on the chapter web site & in the chapter newsletter. Myself & 3 members of the chapter headed to the R2 Summit in Daytona Beach Florida from the 27th to the 29th. The 4 of us got together there and did a tour of Kennedy Space Center. As the Region Awards Director I gave out a bunch of awards to the chapters & members of Region 2. I in turn received several Marine awards as did our Unit.

Feb. 7 Sandwiches and SciFi. Get together with the USS Neptune and talk SciFi of all sorts while eating sandwiches at McAlister’s Deli in Biloxi, MS.

Mar. 20, 21, 22 Coast Con. Mike Brown assisted Coast Con as their Guest Liason. Don Fallo assisted as the Gaming Room Assistant Director. Other members of the ship (Fleet only) were also on staff. The Neptune had a fan table, and Artemis was set up to run, watched over by Sarah Toball. The Neptune competed in the Iron Fan Party (like Iron Chef), with a table with Trek themed foods all based on Lucky Charms.
The Neptune also Celebrated their third year, in a small get-together Saturday night.

December – Marines of the 646th MSG participated in Good Samaritan drive at a
local church, packing and loading groceries for those in need. Members also
attended annual chapter/unit Christmas party. Members also helped deliver toys
to local Toys for Tots collection station (not eligible for CCA award; toys were
collected by local retailer, toy delivery took less than the required four
hours).
January – Marines of the 646th attended a Star Trek movie marathon at Dejah
Thoris CO’s home. Members also attended a lunch at a local restaurant in
conjunction with members of another nearby chapter, USS Wernher von Braun.

LGen Yawn attended the UCA & UDA College Dance & Cheerleading Championships in
Orlando. LGen Yawn preformed 14 hours in volunteer service at Brookside Fire
Rescue.

The Unit gave fifteen bags of food and treats to the Decatur Animal Shelter. The CO is still taking courses at SFMCA and SFA. The 677th Held a Christmas party. The all brought one food item and a gift to exchange.

Unit members attended their parent chapter’s monthly meetings on 12/13/14 & 1/10/15, in Pinellas Park (FL).
COL Anne Zecca donated platelets at LifeSouth Community Blood Centers (Ocala, FL) on 12/4/14, and 12/18/14. A triple amount of platelets was drawn each time, to help cancer & leukemia patients with their conditions.
SFMC reservist Bryan Jones continues to volunteer with a Tampa (FL) area church, in various activities.
Reservist Jones and COL Zecca volunteered at the 40th Annual British Night Watch, 12/6-7/14, honoring St. Augustine’s (FL) time as a British colony during the 18th century. COMO Jones distributed promotional materials to visitors, while COL Zecca helped with a raffle for a painting that was used for promotional posters. Both received certificates of appreciation and mementos for their help.
Oliver & Dixie Savander participated in Operation Christmas Child at their local church during December 2014. The program sends shoebox-sized gifts and supplies to children overseas.
