2nd Battalion 699 MSG Requested: SILVER NEBULA Issuing Authority: Commandant Frequency: As needed Ribbon Description: Black with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster This award is given to any SFMC member who saves another person from immediate and potentially fatal harm without risking his/her own life in the process. Other than the risk to the lifesaver’s own life, all criteria of the Gold Nebula apply Can we give this award to Brigadier Angela Lewis SCC-65107 ***Medical Report*** Upon making ready to leave for the feast(Sept 25), LtCmdr Jennifer Pohe suffered a major injury in her home, ending in a significant gash on her leg. Alerted to the emergency by LtCmdr Jennifer Testardi, BDR Angela Lewis sprang into action-quickly sterilizing the wound and performing a field dressing in order to get her to the hospital. We rushed Jen to Tampa General-since she is a recent transplant patient and her records were there. After hours of waiting, they were able to determine that the shin was not broken, and required 21 stitches, 2 being a deep mattress-style stitch to anchor the stitch line. The ER physician, Dr. Napper, complimented Angela and Jen T. on the quick thinking and application of the dressing. CMDR Michael Mayeux was also present for lift support. We then proceeded, by her request, to the Feast. She was advised to stay off of her leg as much as possible and to change the dressing every day or when needed. She will be having the stitches out this weekend(Oct 3 or thereabouts).

1st Battalion 646 MSG The 646th MSG took part in the USS Dejah Thoris’s 4th Anniversary party on 8/18/2015 at a local bowling facility. Members of the 646th MSG assisted in preparing an exhibit for a local botanical garden’s annual Scarecrow Walk during the last week of August. Members of the 646th assisted the OIC and family in moving out of an apartment and into a house during the first weekend of September. 654 MSG LGen Yawn volunteered 16 hours with Brookside Fire Rescue. Spoke via e-mail on possible recruit 2nd Battalion 602 MEU Working with Operation Shoebox to send Care pickegas to Troops out side of the U S A, also working with NVHS to help Veterans in American, and The American Legion Family Funday to bo hold in Feb 2016. 621 MSG Klingon Feast in Daytona Beach, Florida 631 MSG Unit members attended parent chapter’s meeting on 9/12; guests from USS Victorious were in attendance. Unit member Russell Witte-Dycus attended/participated in the STARFLEET International Conference/SFMC International Muster in Niagara Falls (NY) 8/21-23. Chapter CO (& unit member) Oliver Savander attended Klingon Feast FL in Daytona Beach 9/26-30. He also received the Order of Kahless from the organizers. Anne Zecca donated platelets at LifeSouth Community Blood Centers (Ocala, FL) on 8/28, 9/11, and 9/25. A triple amount was donated each time, to help cancer & leukemia patients with their treatments. She is also on the organizing committee for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Ocala (FL), and attended group meetings on 8/10 & 9/14; the event will be on 10/17.
